INSTRUCTOR / COACH / CONSULTANT:
I am an innovative, energetic, independent community educator to older adults and to business and health-care professionals and the general public on older adult issues, such as employment, civic engagement, socioeconomic/generational trends, and caregiver support.
I have a proven track record of custom-designing and presenting compelling and popular presentations, workshops, classes, and one-on-one sessions relying on the latest evidence-based research. I create valuable learning experiences full of relevant information and skill-building exercises that my clients and students can then apply to many aspects of their lives.
In addition, I possess excellent skills in policy development and organizational consulting in the gerontology field. I can help identify the strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and goals of a business or organization and work with all personnel to improve the services and products they deliver.
WRITER / EDITOR:
As a writer of poetry, essays, book reviews, and nonfiction feature articles and profiles, I have contributed work to national magazines, newspapers, and websites as well as in literary journals and anthologies.
I write, edit, copy edit, and proofread magazines, trade books, marketing materials, and educational materials for grades pre-K through 12 in reading, language arts, math, science, social studies, health, and study skills.
I particularly enjoy giving presentations and teaching classes in caregiver support, expressive writing (journaling, memoir-writing, personal mythmaking, spiritual writing) as a therapeutic tool, brain fitness, stress management, older workforce development, and health-care practitioner support. My interests in integrative medicine, intergenerational and interfaith activities, and community-building influence my holistic approach to teaching.
